I started working as a drywall finisher and painter when I was 16 years old I was only 20 years old when I began subcontracting. That was working on a Motel 6 in Amherst, Ohio. My younger brother and I hired a helper and drove there from Texas. We were young and life was an adventure. I worked for commercial painting contractors when I wasn't working for myself. After 13 years I decided I needed a change and went to work for a drywall company. I learned all aspects of the trade from hanging drywall, to installing ceiling grid and eventually became a foreman. I have worked on hospitals, schools, office buildings, high rise condos, stadiums, and hotels. I took a job working for Midwest Drywall at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri in 2003. That job lasted eight years and took me all over the country. In 2010, I was laid off along with many others due to the economy. That's when I decided to start Paul's Handyman & Remodeling Service.
